Christin appointed head of S3D

Nicolas Christin, professor of engineering and public policy (EPP) and Software and Societal Systems (S3D) Opens in new window, has been appointed as the next department head of S3D.

These departments are already bonded thanks to multiple joint appointments and a brand-new joint PhD, Christin told EPP. Christin “has been a strong leader in department service in both EPP and S3D,” said Peter Adams, EPP’s department head. Examples Adams cited include running S3D's Societal Computing PhD program, spearheading the development of the joint EPP-Societal Computing PhD program, and even helping to start up the EPP Master's program.

This appointment should “strengthen these bonds even more,” Christin added, particularly as he plans “to continue to engage with EPP extensively during this tenure.”
