Wändi Bruine de Bruin is a collaborating professor in Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Engineering and Public Policy. She is also Provost Professor of Public Policy, Psychology, and Behavioral Science at the University of Southern California (USC), where she directs the USC Schaeffer Behavioral Science and Policy Initiative. Her research focuses on the psychology of risk, the science of science communication, and behavior change, with applications to health and environmental topics. She is a Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis, the Psychonomic Society, and the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement (NETSPAR). She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, Journal of Risk Research, Decision, Perspectives on Psychological Science, Psychology and Aging, and Medical Decision Making. She served on the National Academy of Sciences committee on Communicating Science Effectively, the National Academy of Sciences committee on Respiratory Protection for the Public and Workers without Respiratory Protection Programs at their Workplaces, and the Council of the Canadian Academies committee on Health Product Risk Communication.
